Introduction to Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche
Get to know the Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Buddha Society and the introduction of Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche

The full name of Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche is Kathog Rigzin Chenpo – Padma Wangchen Rinpoche
Rigzin Chenpo means great vidyadhara, which is the title of a great accomplished person who has attained the four vidyadhara fruition positions in the Vajrayana. It also means the leader of a sect and the master of the teachings. When he was young, Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche was recognized by thirteen prestigious Rinpoches as the incarnation of Guru Padmasambhava’s heart son, Kongkongzang Nankai Ningbo – the reincarnation of the great thirteen-country national teacher and great accomplished master Kathog Rigzin Tsewang Norbu
Since he was young, Master Rigzin Chenpo has been demonstrating the incredible enlightenment power of the Living Buddha, and he can easily understand the teachings and the five major and minor sciences.
As a mind terma master, he had already chanted countless termas and vajra songs from his meditation before he even started learning the Tibetan alphabet.
Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche studied extensively the teachings of exoteric and esoteric Buddhism under the guidance of accomplished masters from various major sects of Tibetan Buddhism. He was confirmed by accomplished masters of various sects to have truly realized the profound principles of each sect. He is a teacher of the Rimei school (regardless of sect) who is proficient in exoteric and esoteric Buddhism, and he deserves the title.
1. Pure inheritance
Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche’s lineage is pure. Apart from his own tradition, the methods he practices are also recognized by the traditions of other major Tibetan Buddhist sects as the holder and achiever of the Dharma lineage of each tradition.
Therefore, Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche is not only the master of this lineage, but also the master of the terma Dharma of Guru Padmasambhava’s thirteen main deities, the All-Accomplished Tara, the Red Tara, the Vajra Bridge of Dzogchen, the Five Stages of Vajrasattva, and other methods; he is also the master and promoter of many lineages and methods, such as the three-faced, six-armed red Hayagriva taken from Master Kangcang, the blue-light blazing Buddha Mother (Vajrayogini) taken from Master Nianlong, the immortal White Tara of Pameningti, and the Vajrayogini.
2. Focus on Practical Practice
Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche is a Dzogchen teacher who focuses on actual practice. He follows the instructions of his root teachers, Nyushukan Rinpoche and Xiazha Rinpoche, and uses retreat practice as a way to escape from the cycle of life and death. He established the Miaocheng Retreat Center in 2000. After that, retreat centers and temples of the Rinchen tradition were established in the United States, Malaysia and other countries and regions. In the 22 years since its establishment, the Miaocheng Dharma Garden Retreat Center has:
- We provide free long-term (three years and six months, there are still two people who have not come out of the retreat since it was established), medium-term (108 days to one year), and short-term (less than three months) retreats for disciples who are truly practicing, providing a place of refuge for practitioners who are truly seeking liberation.
- He invited great virtues and accomplished people from various major sects to come to the center to preach the Dharma, to spread the Dharma of various sects, and to provide the public with a wide range of Dharma connections.
- He used all he had learned, practiced, and realized to impart the true meaning of Buddhism and practical experience to his disciples and those who were predestined to know him, without reservation, so as to suit the foundation of each disciple and plant the seeds of liberation for all sentient beings.
3. Strict Discipline
Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche strictly observes the Samaya precepts.
- Strictly observe the vows of tantric Buddhism and do not break the vows to spread the Dharma just to please the public.
- I have not violated any special instructions given by any guru I have ever relied on, and I have not caused any displeasure to the guru.
- He respects his teachers and fellow Taoists, and treats them in harmony and love.
- Apart from giving lectures and initiations to his disciples, he only met with people at fixed times to answer some of his disciples’ questions. The rest of the time he was in seclusion, meditation, or writing.
4. Prosperity of the Dharma
In order to promote the teaching and proof of Sakyamuni and let more people understand the true meaning of Buddhism, Master Bao worked hard to translate the Dharma texts in addition to lecturing on the sutras, and devoted a lot of effort to pass down many secret rituals to the world.
At the same time, he also edited and published hundreds of works on related Buddhist doctrines, biographies of accomplished people, and annotations on Dharma, leaving valuable Buddhist references for future generations.
5. Protection and inheritance
In order to collect and organize the scattered traditions of his own sect and the secret teachings of the Supreme Vajrayana, Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche traveled all over the world, visiting great masters of this tradition, descendants of some past benefactors, collectors, major libraries in the world, etc., and made an indelible contribution to the restoration and revitalization of the tradition and teachings.
6. Protecting the Dharma
Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche has always taken the responsibility of carrying the Buddha’s family business as his own responsibility. In addition to prospering and spreading his own lineage, he also helped other lineages collect and organize teachings to continue the Dharma lineage. In addition, he also supported some temple construction projects and restored and rebuilt many stupas and pagodas of past masters.
7. Do not seek fame or wealth
Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche stayed away from the eight winds of the world. He was indifferent to fame and wealth, did not pursue worldly fame and wealth, and refused some social positions.
He did not advertise. Even though many great virtues and accomplished people gave him predictions, he did not show them to the public. He said, “If one’s own listening, thinking and practice have not increased, it is not enough to rely on the recommendation letter or support of accomplished people.” He used his words and deeds to show what a “practitioner” is.
For money and property, he adhered to the principle of “enough is enough”, and everything came as fate would have it. There is no distribution center for Buddhist supplies in the temple. The disciples gave him personal offerings, and he asked the people around him to use them all for the cause of spreading the Dharma and benefiting sentient beings. He advocated that the public “offer with the Dharma”.
8. Be compassionate
Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche treats all beings equally. In his eyes, there are only “sentient beings”, regardless of wealth or poverty, or class. As long as you sincerely seek the Dharma, he will teach you everything he knows, no matter who you are. If your disciples encounter difficulties in their family life, he will definitely do his best to help them. Every year, he is invited to give lectures on the cause and effect of good and evil to prisoners in prison, and provide spiritual counseling and humanitarian care to serious criminals who are about to be sentenced.
9. Be low-key and humble
Although Kathog Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche’s reincarnation and his attainments in this life have been recognized by many accomplished masters, and although he is the master of many masters, and is a teacher and disciple of some great masters, he never acts high and mighty, lives a simple life, and always walks in the world as an ordinary lama. Master Bao’s merits are too numerous to list. As a promoter of Buddhism, he upholds the tradition of the ancestors and works hard to promote the two methods of teaching and evidence.

Rigzin Chenpo Rinpoche’s merits are too numerous to list. As a promoter of Buddhism, he follows the tradition of the ancestors and works tirelessly to promote both teaching and evidence.
The following is a compilation of the not-so-complete records of Master Bao’s public teachings and empowerments over the past decade. There may be some mistakes or omissions, and I bow to the Three Roots to repent.
