The “Four Medical Classics” were selected into the “Memory of the World (International) List”!

On May 28, 2023, the front page of Tibet Daily published the news that “the masterpiece of Tibetan medicine ‘Four Medical Classics’ was selected into the Memory of the World Register”.

The “Four Medical Classics” were written from the 8th to the 12th centuries and are the foundation of Tibetan medicine. The literature comprehensively reflects the historical trajectory of the development of Tibetan medicine and plays an irreplaceable role in the dissemination and development of Tibetan medicine. The five versions of the “Four Medical Dictionaries” of the 1546 woodcut “Zatang Edition”, the 1640 woodcut “Dadan Edition”, the 1662 woodcut “Gandan Pingcuolin Edition”, the 1892 woodcut “Yaowangshan Edition” and the 1942 “Golden Juice Manuscript” are proofread and determined versions of different periods.
